[shadow=c0c0c0,left,300]An Introduction[/shadow]
Through the eyes of one of Los Angeles' Denizens..
[/blockquote]
I can remember where I was when I heard that first announcement. I was on my way towards Holy Cross Cemetery to pay my respects to a recently deceased relative when I heard the first screams. A couple of people came running past me as what looked to be.. Creatures.. came after them. The stink of decay, the rotted flesh, It was night of the living dead come true, only much worse.
The Apocalypse.
A mans voice was then heard. It echoed from nearby car radio’s, television sets. He presented the city with a quandary that would cause Los Angeles to delve tumultuously into a spiral of darkness. There was no way to avoid it. He presented two men within this first announcement, two men who were known in the city men of power.The man called himself..[shadow=c0c0c0,left,300]DEATH[/shadow]
He had three different forms; A child, A Man and A Woman. A Master of disguise ...or so it seemed.
The men he spoke of, the citys men of power weren’t mortal, nor did they hold regular office. Garith Monroe, Prince of the Camarilla Council and Darious Ghost, Regent of the Sabbat Council. Two Vampire Elders, rivals in many ways.
I can recall looking up at the moon and watching it begin to turn the hue of ripe tomato’s. Well, that isn't the best similarity, in reality the red was more like blood. I was at Vigne de Rose Park..I believe. My memory is fuzzy. Then again, after everything that has happened I don't think exact names and places are that important anymore – as half of them are no longer exsistent. The Creatures weren't the worst of it; what I believed to be Zombies, Demons. It seemed Death's army was marching against Los Angeles, and most of us had little to no knowledge of what was all going on. How naive we'd all been. It wasn't long before things became worse, grew insanely rampageous. The man who called himself Death sent out a second announcement, only.. I don't know how.. It was as if god was delivering the message himself as the voice felt as if it were showering down upon us from the heavens above. I began to truly panic.
I remember running, but I don’t know where exactly I ran. It appeared to be some sort of Warehouse. I didn’t take the time to find out just what kind.. Only that I ducked inside a deserted building after I felt like my flesh was being ripped off. I'm glad I didn't glance up but I could see it fall on my outstretched hand once I was underneath the protection of the building's outer walkway. It .. Looked like blood, but it burnt like acid. Around seven or so more came within ten minutes of my entering the building, I didn’t know any of them. After witnessing the massacre around us we did the only sensible thing we could, we sealed off any entry or exit into that building, & we were safe. Or at least hoped we were.
I can remember the consternation in one girls’ eyes, when she came pounding on the door asking to be let in, something about being bit she was bleeding but the other's wouldn't let her in. They pulled me away from the door, a old rust colored door with a small eight by five window placed in the center of it. They held me and two others down as they tried to help her after I had failed. We wanted to save her . I was stuck in a room, if you could call it that, with heartless individuals. The true colors of Los Angeles Denizens had shone through that night. After her pleas had died off and the pounding upon the door ceased, they released us. I remember puking from disgust.
I lost my faith in man that night.. in the human race. To me, they were no better then the miscreations reaping the city.
I don’t remember falling asleep, however, I do remember waking up, or rather being shaken awake and listening in -- with the others to the silence which had birthed around us during my repose. The silence was eerie. Daylight had arrived. Usually this would have signaled a sign of hope. No. Not in the middle of the night! After a careful debate we left that place, grateful to be able to stretch our legs. The rain had stopped; the army Death had sent after us all but disappeared. Or so it seemed. It was only within an hour or so after the last announcement came that We saw figures in the clouds of three men, Two were the men of power Garith Monroe, Darious Ghost the other a man known as Jaayseph.
It was then, standing around near the building we'd come out of that it grew dark and cold.
Then it began to snow...
A White Christmas.
A welcome sight usually.
The Snow. Even though Christmas had been two days prior. The day all the mayhem had begun. However, when it increased to the point of a blizzard, me and my small entourage of surviors took cover once more. We were fearful of what else was to come next..[shadow=c0c0c0,left,300]Welcome to Los Angeles...[/shadow]
